Valued Friends & Clients,

Ah! Summer in the desert. July & August are almost always the hottest months, and this summer there is humidity added in! Temperatures are now hovering around 110 degrees for the most part. This results in fewer people out looking for homes, which means our real estate market has entered its normal summer mode.

Many luxury listings have been taken out of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for the summer. So, inventory isn't as high as it is 'in season'. We do see some buyers coming from the 'drive-out market' in Southern California, and they tend to be looking for a good summer deal.

However, most of the summer sales activity will be focused in the lower price ranges. The lower the price, the more activity. As we move into November, listing inventory will increase, and the higher priced homes will see more activity as well.

Interest rates continue to move downward, which should be a big incentive to prospective buyers in all ranges. The real estate market will continue to be very competitive, and homes that are priced realistically and show very well will be at the top of the competition.

This month the following items are included and, hopefully, you will find them interesting:

Palm Springs Area's High-end Golf Clubs Up Investments

When the work is hired out, as opposed to being done by the homeowner himself, attention should be paid to determine whether or not the person doing the work is required to have a contractor's license.
